It’s been some time since I added a deviation; my camera seems to be so heavy that it becomes a task to pick it up. The last year has been so tough. This time last year I was recovering from two broken arms and I became the bad guy at work due to a promotion into the director’s chair. My last deviation was taken in Boston on one of the most beautiful days I have ever seen. The sun was shining bright the temperature was in the low seventies and my best friend was recovering from a bone marrow transplant due to a very aggressive form of leukemia that he had been diagnosed with about the time the casts came off my arms. My arms have now mostly healed although they still hurts from time to time and the director’s position is going quite well however my best friend passed away about six weeks ago and a fellow employee that I have worked with for over twenty years passed away two days ago. It seems like I would rather spend my time working on mechanical things rather than being creative with my camera. Some days the camera calls to me but it is still too heavy to pick up. It has been one of the roughest years in recent memory for me. Maybe my camera is trying to tell me that everything will work out and I refuse to listen. Had it not been for my wife and my two daughters to carry me through this time I surely would have drown in this sea of misery. Thank you for allowing me to vent.
